Our trainee Tav Flöder has made it: Since Saturday, November 23, 2019 she can officially call herself DOG certified ocularist. Together with three other trainees, she has successfully passed the final exam of the German Ocularist Society at the Kunstaugen-Institut F. Ad. Müller Söhne in Wiesbaden.
The theoretical exam was about knowledge from various fields: from anatomy to material science to business knowledge. Then the practical examination was on the agenda: Before the eyes of the examination committee, the prospective ocularists had to simulate a complete treatment situation: from advising the patient to producing the blank with iris drawing to adapting the finished ocular prosthesis.
In the end, there was reason for celebration for all candidates, but especially for Tav: With an overall grade of 1.8, she not only passed her final examination successfully, but also passed it with above-average results. We congratulate Tav from the bottom of our hearts and look forward to working with her in the future!
